Filing Method
If you hate cutting coupons, then this system might be the best for you. All you do, is when you get your newspaper insert, is write the date on the front of the insert and file if by date.( The date can always be found on the spine of the insert). It is that simple! No clipping, no sorting, no nothing!
Next, I go to sundaycouponpreview.com and I print off that week’s coupon list,(One for SmartSource, RedPlum, etc.) I then look for the coupon that has the longest expiration date. I highlight that date and put it in the front of that week’s insert, by doing this I can easily see when I should pull the inserts and recycle them
.
Then when you see a deal on “Omaha Couponing 4 EXTREME Giving”, all you need to do is, go to your file and search for the insert type, such as SmartsSource 09/25, pull that insert and cut out the coupon you need.

Coupon Binder
We recommend either of these Binders below, the 1st binder is a great starter binder if you are on a tight budget and the second Binder is the exact binder I have now. This is a zipper Binder, because at some point you will drop your binder and then you will see why having a zipper is so important, but this binder can be purchased at a later point with your coupon savings too.

My system combines both of the above systems together. When I get my coupon inserts, I go through them and just cut out ONLY the coupons I am pretty sure we will buy and I file them into my binder.
With the left over coupons that I don’t think my family will use, but if I could get the items free, I would donate them. Those coupons get filed by insert and if I find a deal that will be free after coupon. I will post it on our blog OmahaCouponing4ExtremeGiving.blogspot.com/ and will pull the coupon needed for my shopping trip.
On-the-Go Purse Organizer
So, while I'm printing off my Shopping List, I'm pulling the coupons out that I'm going to need. I have an on-the-go purse size, accordion, coupon organizers. I have each pocket labeled with my top store names like; Walmart, Target, Bakers, HyVee, Use 1st, Use 2nd, Use 3rd and a Refile pocket. I put the coupons in their respected pocket. (The Use 1st, Use 2nd, Use 3rd and Refile I'll explain in a minute) I also print any extra coupons I need. I cut them and put them in their proper store pocket.
When I'm in the store, I find the item on my list and confirm that I'm getting the item. I pull the coupon out of the accordion file from that store’s pocket that I have it filed in and put it into the "Use 1st pocket" of my file.
This way I can double check the expiration date of the coupon, the discount on the coupon, and the number of items I need to get.
Sometimes, especially at Target you have to do more than one transaction. On some of the Target coupons you are only allowed one per transaction, which sucks, but is easy enough to handle.
That's why I have a "Use 1st, Use 2nd and Use 3rd" pockets in the front of my file, so I can separate my coupons in separate pockets, for each transaction. Also, sometimes I get to the store and I see that our prices aren't what I thought they were going to be and then the discount isn't that good, so I put those coupons in the "re-file" part of my file in the back. Also if you find peelie, blinkies, or tear pad coupons, I put them in my re-file pocket too.
